Having been formed in 1919 and playing one season in the Croydon & District Association (C&DA) in 1919/20 as a foundation club member, KiIsyth Cricket Club is proud of the fact that we are the only club in the history of the Ringwood District Cricket Association (RDCA) that has fielded at least one team in every season since 1922/23 inclusive, our first season in the RDCA. Hence, the 2021/22 season marks KCC’s 100th CONSECUTIVE PLAYING SEASON in the RDCA. Whilst we don’t wish or intend to be boastful in any way, we would like to acknowledge and celebrate this significant and unique achievement.

As we know the RDCA was founded in 1920/21 (absorbing the C&DA), but Kilsyth CC was unable to be admitted as it did not have a home ground.

There have been many clubs that have been a member of the RDCA, some have transferred to other competitions (e.g. Ringwood, Croydon, Bayswater), some have come from other competitions (e.g. Lilydale, Warrandyte and more recently, clubs from the Yarra Valley), others have disbanded or merged, a number have gone into recess for a period, particularly during World War 2, and some have been established in more recent times. But Kilsyth CC has managed to play continuously for the past 100 seasons in the RDCA and is the only club to do so.

Congratulations to all those who have contributed to achieving this incredible feat over the journey and we acknowledge the contribution of many families, including the Baldwin Family, the Fiedler Family, the Matthews Family and the Gibson Family (all related) in the earlier years of the Club.

The Club will celebrate its centenary in the RDCA in the 2022/23 season (i.e. October 1922 to October 2022 will be 100 years in the RDCA).
